Nintendo needs to shake things up
First off what is Nintendo thinking ? For starters Zelda should look for a new revolutionary formula. It need not be related to development, it would also be aesthetic. It would take a major change to reach the level of a masterpiece, to deliver a punch line like that of A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time or, although many complained to this day (I remember vaguely that I was one of those who complained), the beautiful The Wind Waker.
I can complain and complain that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is being released too late, to a console that technologically outdated and that years ago left its best years of existence. Maybe a new Zelda could become the most powerful ammunition for the next weapon of Nintendo, the Wii U. However, instead of being used as a lure to sell the future console, is used as a last-ditch effort for a machine almost abandoned (a remake to the Wii U like Twilight Princess, that I did not like).
I can complain and complain that no longer does Miyamoto’s ideas flow as before, he is no longer able to innovate and surprise and that when it does he creates things like Wii Music. I do not want to be unfair to the man who gave me some of the happiest moments of my life. In fact, amid a generalized crisis of ideas, good old Shigeru almost always manages to offer outstanding quality products and are outstanding.
I can complain and yet when I see videos like the last of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. The game explodes with color, magic, epic adventure, charisma and good vibrations. I do not need to play it to look forward to experience wonderful sensations and unforgettable experiences. The saga has never failed us and it is clear that this is not going to be the first time. Also, glad to discover new mechanical additions and flight scenarios that are more fun than just classical situations such as underwater areas, sword fighting, or areas of shopping and trading.
What expectations do you have placed in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword?
