Wii U Tekken is still in the drawing board, that is pre-production

We all know that Tekken for the Wii U will be released eventually, its just that we all thought that it was well underway and hopefully we where close to seeing a few screes or even some videos of this highly anticipated game, but no….

The series producer, Katsuhiro Harada, acknowledged that the Tekken core development team has not yet begun to draft Tekken for the Wii U. The project, currently in the hands of a team dedicated to independent testing of new technology, evaluating the new console.

The game will be the first Tekken title to hit a home console from Nintendo.

“Once this assessment and the various research projects completed, they send us these results and we can look more specifically above. But we are not at this stage today,” said Harada.

Harada was quoted. It is scheduled to arrive to the Wii U in late 2012 as it doesn’t look good that Tekken will appear as one of the launch titles. Moreover, the studio is currently engaged in the 3D version of Tekken Prime Edition forNintendo 3DS.
