One of the analysts most known for his appearances in the media, is Mr Michael Pachter, this time he as rained on the Nintendo Wii U as he has talked about the upcoming Nintendo home console, Wii U, saying that, despite being an ambitious console, but does not consider it a “next generation” console.

“The Wii U is a pretty ambitious undertaking,” Pachter told Industry Gamers in an interview. “It’s a new console, with new controls and architecture, but it’s not quite ‘next’ generation. Developers have to contend with differences between the Wii U and current generation consoles, then have to figure out what to do with the controls.”

Pachter believes that Wii U will be subjected to multiple ports, as developers make Wii U games that already exist on PS3 and 360 games instead of making new and unique titles, he also believes that sales for the development will not be very significant with titles already available in the current HD consoles. Well duh! isn’t this what I said before ? However I also believe Nintendo has a pretty strong list of its own games that are sure to be a hit.

Finally, Pachter does not expect much from the Wii U release:

“In order for the launch to be hugely successful, the console will need three things: a competitive price, compelling first party launch titles, and compelling third party launch titles. We don’t know if the Wii U will have any of these, so it’s quite difficult to predict a hugely successful launch.”

It does not seem that Mr. Pachter has high expectations for the Wii U, rather rather raises many questions, over the treatment that will be given by third parties, as well as its launch, only time will tell if Wii U falls short or becomes a hit behind the Nintendo brand.
